What can I do with my Ajax system?

AJAX is an intruder alarm and security system for homes, apartments and businesses. A wide range of detectors is available, ensuring the highest levels of reliability. Each device is battery-powered, providing a reliable, easy-to-use wireless system. The AJAX app is available on iOS and Android, so you can manage your security system easily and efficiently.

Do Ajax devices really work so far away from the HUB?

We have checked the maximum distance between the Hub and the detectors in open spaces and, in reality, it reaches 2000 meters. Your experience may vary, as walls, ceilings and other barriers will shorten this distance. If you’re not sure, you can run a radio test using the Ajax Security System application to determine signal strength before installing the detectors.

How often should I change the batteries in my device?

Ajax devices are battery-powered. With this in mind, AJAX has developed an energy-efficient radio protocol to protect your home or office for as long as possible. Battery life is also directly related to the frequency of use of each device and its position.

What can I do with my Ajax system?

Ajax can be easily extended with opening, motion, presence, fire and flood detectors, as well as relays. The system can be managed remotely via smartphone. You can purchase additional devices and add them to the system individually. Detectors can be easily connected to the application.

How can I control the Ajax security system?

The easiest way to manage the AJAX system is via the Ajax Security System app for iOS and Android. The application will enable you to manage the system and monitor devices (including information on signal status, battery level and temperature). The system can also be controlled using the Ajax SpaceControl wireless joystick or the KeyPad wireless keyboard.

Can my cat or robot vacuum cleaner trigger an alarm?

Ajax devices use a digital algorithm to detect human movements. As long as your pets are less than 50 centimeters (19.5 inches) tall and weigh up to 20 kilograms (44 pounds), they should not activate their Ajax sensors.

camera

Is Ajax compatible with video surveillance?

Up to 10 cameras can be connected to the Hub, and up to 25 cameras to Hub 2. However, to monitor larger installations, you may need more video surveillance equipment. Hub Plus can help. You can manage up to 50 cameras. And if you need even more cameras, try DVR. The application will treat each video recorder as a single video surveillance device, regardless of the number of cameras linked to it. Even if there are more than a hundred cameras, you can still switch from one to another while watching the transmission.

Why does Ajax send alerts so quickly?

The HUB constantly monitors the detectors. If a detector is activated, it immediately transmits this information. The concentrator sends an alert to the system owner’s smartphone or to an alarm reception center. All this happens in thousandths of a second.

coupure

If there’s a power cut, will I be left unprotected?

No. Ajax will continue to protect your home, even during power failures. All detectors operate on battery power, and a back-up battery is installed in the concentrator. It offers up to 16 hours of reliable operation. Once power is restored to your home, the concentrator will automatically recharge the backup battery.

hack

Can Ajax be hacked?

Ajax is a closed ecosystem. Ajax is not a security player, so they don’t use open source code or popular encryption algorithms. This avoids the need for code capture devices. Ajax develops its own software and manufactures its own radio technology from scratch, with multi-level protection.

The Malevich OS operating system is protected against computer viruses. The IoT protocol eliminates the threat of getting used to a botnet. If someone wanted to hack Ajax, they’d need unlimited financial resources, in addition to computer superpowers. And yet, it would take decades of daily attempts.

jamming

Can Ajax suffer interference?

Unlike most wireless and wired security systems, Ajax uses two communication channels to send alerts: cellular communication (optional) and broadband Internet. In the event of a problem with one channel, Ajax automatically switches to the other. If an attacker interferes with the 2G signal, the system sends an alarm via Ethernet or Wi-Fi.

Is the radio signal between the concentrator and the devices susceptible to interference?

Not without being detected. The concentrator controls all the detectors in the system. When you can’t receive a signal from at least one of them, an alarm is sent to inform users of the loss of communication.
In addition, the Hub reports high noise levels in the radio channel, which may indicate deliberate inhibition attempts or other strong interference. For example, a neighbor’s faulty radio receiver.

Can Ajax radio signals be intercepted?

No. All device data is encrypted with a floating-key algorithm before being sent. For added protection, each device has a unique identifier to help prevent counterfeiting.

setup

Do I need a professional installation program to configure the system?

If you wish, you can set up the system yourself: the mobile app features interactive instructions. On the other hand, a professional installer can configure everything optimally to ensure maximum protection. The choice is yours.

free

How much does Ajax cost per month to run?

Ajax can work for free if you use it to monitor the system yourself. You will only have to pay a monthly fee if you connect to an alarm reception center. The cost will depend on your location, the size and type of venue, and the quantity of services requested.
